distracted.
i think distraction is an understatement. "life" has taken over and i haven't had any time to blog about it.
to sum up.... we finished the master bedroom some time ago. here are some pics to ooh and ahh over. we're still figuring out the furnishings; we need to make a decision on new dressers and nightstands, and then finish "decorating". the chair in the corner is the old pink damask slipper chair that i reupholstered. and, the quilt on the bed was handmade by my dad as a wedding gift for me and ian.
what else... i finished the central park hoodie just in time for the summer heat wave. i still need to sew the closures on, but i'm in no real hurry now. on the plane trip back from france i started on "sahara" from stitch diva and wendy bernard. the construction is very unique and the fit is wonderful, but i've had to re-knit the collar several times. i have very narrow shoulders, and didn't take that into the measurements and fitting. this was pushing the collar up into a mandarin-type style, so i reknit it using short rows so the back of the collar is shorter than the front. i've got a few other projecs in the works, but i'll save those for the next post, along with some photos.
over the long weekend, ian and i finally had a chance to do some more work on the house. home depot was having a great sale on slate [1.25/sq ft !!], so we picked up enough for the main bathroom and porch. taking advantage of the beautiful weather, we tiled the porch on sunday. we'll need to grout sometime in the next few days, but it already looks 100x better than the painted concrete.
time for me to get back to work. hopefully we'll have our back deck underway soon so i can take the laptop out and enjoy this beautiful weather :)
